Appalachian State University is launching an initiative that address the affordable housing needs of its faculty and staff. The new Employee Housing development, part of the first phase of the university's Innovation District, is designed with sustainability at its core. The development will be carbon-neutral, utilizing geothermal wells for heating and cooling, while solar and wind turbine power will provide clean, renewable electricity.
