Students have been in the new 12,000 square foot space almost every day, utilizing the maker lab, community gathering space, demonstration kitchen. A major goal for Y.O.U. was to seek out contractors to support local businesses. The organization signed 30 percent of its contracts with minority-owned, women-owned and locally-owned businesses, according to its website.
