Our commitment to ESG
Driving sustainability and equity through collective action.
Embedding ESG in Our Culture and Vision
At PMA, we view Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) performance as both a business imperative and a reflection of our core values. Initiated with the enthusiasm of our employees our ESG program has become integral to our operations and management. By embedding ESG principles into our company culture we drive synergies that propel our progress. Our roadmap, shaped by client input and leadership, focuses on education, policy development, and communication, ensuring alignment with our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) strategies and other initiatives like our Mentoring and Well-Being programs.
Our ESG priorities reflect the expectations and concerns of both our employees and clients. We are committed to positively impacting the built environment through responsible sustainable practices focused on environmental stewardship, employee health and well-being, and transparent governance. By aligning our values with those of our clients, we help them achieve their own ESG goals, fostering stronger partnerships and contributing to a more equitable and sustainable future.
Employee Resource Groups at PMA
Fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace is essential to PMA’s success. To support this commitment, we have established two Employee Resource Groups (ERGs): EmpowHER and Pride@PMA. These voluntary, employee-led groups are dedicated to promoting diversity and inclusion within our organization, aligning with PMA’s core values and enhancing our company culture.

EmpowHER
EmpowHER amplifies the voice and advancement of women at PMA. Our mission is to shape the future of women at PMA by fostering impactful connections, providing development opportunities, and supporting professional growth through our five pillars: Mentorship & Sponsorship, Growth, Connection, Empowerment, and Allyship.
We cultivate an inclusive environment that empowers women to develop their talents for personal and professional growth. Our goal is to increase the retention and representation of women in leadership roles at PMA and beyond. By creating a supportive community and offering various growth opportunities, EmpowHER is dedicated to helping women thrive and succeed throughout their careers. -
Pride@PMA
We foster a diverse and inclusive workplace through our Pride@PMA ERG. As a community of LGBTQIA+ and ally professionals, Pride@PMA creates a supportive environment where cross-cultural conversations, professional development, and wellness initiatives grow.
The core impact of Pride@PMA is structured around three pillars: connecting PMAers, empowering them by creating spaces for LGBTQIA-specific personal and professional development, and inspiring PMAers towards self-betterment and alignment with PMA’s Core Values. By fostering equity and respect, we ensure that the professionalism, compassion, and knowledge PMAers bring to the workplace remain unparalleled.
THRIVE Intern Program
Our commitment to the ESG principles extends beyond daily operations and management. Through the THRIVE Intern Program, we increase opportunities for students enrolled in City Colleges and other similar higher education institutions, where these opportunities are traditionally scarce. By partnering with these schools, we provide internships that offer valuable experiences to students, enhancing their career prospects.
The program enriches students’ educational journeys, expanding their networks, and offering. Mentoring our interns’ work within local project teams, participating in ongoing learning sessions, and complete a Capstone Project presented to leadership. This program also enriches our employees’ experiences by developing their people management and mentoring skills.
Voluntary Mentorship Program
We believe in the power of mentorship to drive professional growth and create a supportive work environment. The Voluntary Mentorship Program (VMP) cultivates a mentoring culture where experienced staff guide their mentees through project challenges, career development, and personal growth.
Mentees can seek advice on work challenges, learning opportunities, and professional growth. The program builds confidence, particularly for those early in their careers, while reinforcing our core value of continuous learning. It enriches the professional development of both mentors and mentees, fostering a culture of teaching, learning, and collaboration.
